Bullying stopped in like middle school.
For those of you who didn't know this already, I'm getting sued. Yes, at the tender age of 24 I am partaking in the age old American tradition of one person saying I owe them something more than what they got.
The thick and skinny of the situation is that I was driving a company vehicle when a girl ran a red light and hit me. The police officer who arrived saw it another way and gave me a ticket which I fought and it was dismissed in traffic court. However, her father got a lawyer and decided to sue me in civil court for the damages to his daughters vehicle which should have been paid by his insurance (if he has any). This morning I was roused from bed by a phone call from a stately sounding gentlemen who in a very nice way tried bullying me into settling the case. This is understandable, however shitty, considering the case goes to court tomorrow and he hadn't heard anything from me. I could litereally hear the change in his voice when I told him I had a lawyer from Cox representing me, and it was not a good change. Kind of empowering knowing that I have a lawyer who is basically going to tell this man he has no case, and that going to court with this will result in the plaintiff paying for repairs for his own vehicle plus court fees. JUSTICE!!
On another note, my girlfriend will be home in a week for Christmas break. Three weeks of the woman I love after hardly seeing her for four months. We're planning to go to New York city for a day or two and visit things like Ground Zero, Rockafellar Center, Central Park, Chinatown, etc. I could actually care less what we do together as long as we're together though. It's been rough being apart considering before she left for college we had spent almost everyday of three years together. I guess now I realized not to take our time together for granted, and I plan on spoiling her like it ain't no thang.
